Geology and a Moving "Mountain": A Workshop for Educators

Join in an exploration of Mount Baldy, a living, moving, sand dune. Hear from Dr. Zoran Kilibarda about the movement of Mount Baldy, and learn about research conducted by Drs. Erin Argyilan and Todd Thompson on dune movement and the mysterious “holes” that have formed in this giant dune. Indoor sessions at the Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education will be followed by a ranger guided field trip to the Mount Baldy Summit.  Learn about a new traveling trunk focused on geology and receive materials you can use in lessons with your students. This workshop is open to teachers of students in grades 4 – 12.  Cost:  $10
