As Indigenous communities revitalize their ancestral languages and traditions, the knowledge of the stars is also emerging. Old stories and teachings are coming back to life as Anishinaabe people seek and contemplate their connection to the star world. This presentation shares the unique perspective of the stars and how they connect to the language and culture of the Anishinaabe people.

This workshop is a continuation of the the Indigenous Science series from November. When we learn to read the stars like a clock, it influences our activities. Join us for a fascinating look at Astronomy!

Michael Waasegiizhig Price is Anishinaabe and an enrolled member of Wikwemikong First Nations in Ontario, Canada. He serves as the Traditional Ecological Knowledge Specialist at the Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC) in Odanah, Wisconsin.
