Practice the Japanese art of "forest bathing" - experiencing the natural world with all of your senses. Explore around Dunes Learning Center as you practice mindfulness in nature on this special guided hike. You may want to bring a journal to record the experience during the reflection time. We will conclude with a traditional tea ceremony.

To enhance the sensory experience, please refrain from wearing cologne/perfume or any type of smelly bug spray. Natural bug deterrent will be provided if needed.

Cynthia Smith, spent 10 years living in the Pacific Northwest and has been back in her birth home of Northwest Indiana for 15 years to be near her grandchildren. Since her return she has been teaching yoga and meditation, leading wellness retreats and nature hikes. She has also created a poetry and writers group that meets monthly. Her passion for Eco Wellness, a term she has used to create an intention of being in nature for wellbeing is now realized in Forest Bathing, and has been a dream for many years. She is delighted to now offer this practice to others.
