Welcome to the 2020 Citizen Science Symposium!
Hi to all our citizen scientists! We had a great time meeting you and trying out all the different projects together this Winter. I hope you were able to learn more about the topic your class selected and try your hand at data collection in your own home or yard. When we were last together I spoke about everyone gathering and sharing at our Citizen Science Symposium, but unfortunately things did not go as planned.
However, we want to keep our promise! We have made the event into a digital affair so you can still experience the wonder through a Virtual Citizen Science Symposium. Learn from local experts and scientists by watching the videos here on the Symposium webpage. Have questions for the scientists or a memory to recount with your fellow students? Share them on the Forum webpage. Want to learn about what other local students worked on or continue doing citizen science projects outside of school? Head to the Citizen Science Projects page. Don't forget to tell us about your experience with the program (via story, photos, video, artwork, poem, etc) by entering the t-shirt contest!
I know this year didn't go as planned, but I had a lot of fun learning with all of you. I hope you enjoyed your time in the program, learned something new, and will keep stepping outside your comfort zone by learning new things and going outdoors!
